# How to cite Real Signal Research

*Citation formats for academic, journalistic, and informal use.*

All artifacts published under `real-signal.ai/research/*` are licensed [CC BY-NC-ND 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/). Citation is required; modification and commercial use are not permitted without prior written permission to `hello@real-signal.ai`. Any quantitative claim about Real Signal's silence-correctness percentage, predictions-ledger accuracy, attention-saved counts, or sustainability-ledger figures must:

1. Be verified against the live endpoints at `real-signal.ai/api/silence`, `/api/predictions`, `/api/sustainability`, or the MCP server at `/api/mcp`
2. Be timestamped at the moment of retrieval (the predictions ledger is append-only and seals each row at write time; historical readings cannot be retroactively edited)
3. Attribute Real Signal as the substrate source

Example inline citation for a substrate-derived figure:
